I spent last Sunday afternoon with this sweet baby girl, and I have to say I had a fabulous time! Miss E was extremely adorable…and so smiley! I love when I am able to capture those heart tugging smiles for parents!

What I thought was going to be my last newborn of 2011 turned into my first newborn of 2012! Either way, he was just as sweet!
Welcome baby C!

Such a sweetie…I’ve been photographing this little one since she was still inside mom! I love to watch babies grow and change.
Thank you S Family for giving me the opportunity to capture these moments!

Welcome Mr. C. He’s super cute…just check out those wrinkles (the one time in life that wrinkles are cute)!
This little one was almost two weeks old…and he gave me a run for my money….but, I like a challenge sometimes.

This little one loves to make the cutest faces, and it was fun to watch her as she dozed in and out of sleep.
How am I so blessed to be able to do this for a living:)

I have had the pleasure of photographing this sweet little man over the past year; time goes too fast.
I’m really not sure who had more fun…
Happy Birthday Mr. W!

I am a little behind on blogging. I had the opportunity to spend some time with this little sweetheart last week. Her daddy works in the coal industry and wanted to incorporate his gear into our photo session; I think we got a good one…or two

It seems that last week our leaves peaked here….one minute they were golden, the next they were on the ground. Once I find a perfect place with “perfect” leaves I want to keep it that way…at least for 2 weeks! I console myself though in considering that for new leaves to appear (and hence Fall next year), the old leaves must fall.
I had the joy of photographing this sweet little boy last Sunday (yes, I am behind on sharing!).
It seems that children are like leaves…always changing. We want to keep them the way they are forever, but in doing so we would miss the great things to come.
Meet Baby B…a heartbreaker, for sure!

….that’s how I like newborn images. For me, a newborn picture does not need much of anything. Look at that face…the lips…the smiles! Who am I to mess with something so sweet?
In a great newborn session, the babies pose themselves…I am just there to admire their beauty….and admire, I do!
Little Miss C was 11 days old last week when I had the joy of photographing her. Although she didn’t completely zonk out until the very end, we were able to come to agreement on a few sweet pictures for her Mama and Dad.
I just LOVE newborn sessions!!

{Memories in my Head}|Ligonier Children’s Photographer

Many assume that since I am a Photographer I have enough pictures of my own kids to fill a few galleries; pictures on every wall; photo frames full of memories.
One would think.
Truth is, I have a handful of portraits, quite a few pictures that are snapshots…and many more memories in my head.
It’s not that I don’t try to take pictures of my children (I do). More often than not, the picture taking process is more of a frustration process. You must understand my kids are little still…5, 3 and 2…and they are too used to having a camera in their face; they want to see their mom’s face (not something attached to it).
Once now and again though I will get
a smile…
a giggle…
some whimsy…
(let’s not leave out my youngest)
Perhaps that country air has something in it that makes some magic…
or perhaps the magic is always there…it just needs some coaxing.
So alas…I will have to settle at times for the memories in my head. And for those of you who think the pictures above make me a liar I will leave you with one last picture (the “behind the scenes”). This one needs no description:)

Adorable pictures of your kids! I am in the same boat; I need to make it a point to take pictures of my own daughter more often. Love the one of the three of them in the window!

Thanks Sandy!

Oh my gosh! I love these! Those bright smiles!!! My fave has to be the one of them peaking out the window!

Love these shots. You have a sensitive artist’s sense.
My church has a ” Mother’s Day Out ” and I know all those mothers get is the typical stool and screen shots.
Approach Martha our church secretary and tell her I sent you. There are a lot of children sent here for pre school and some are not from our church members.Crossroads Presbyterian, Monroeville, Haymaker Rd. 412 372 2226
Glad to help. Photos are so important. The best one of my 4 year old son was taken in front of a corkscrew willow with very soft cloudy light. The delicate twists interested Ben, and they interest the viewer too with a light close shot and a watercolor green back ground go a grassy hill behind him.
I don’t a have a digitized copy to send…But, it was an accidental prop in my in laws back yard. It really helped.
